It is my favorite time of year, when you can smell the smoke in the air and the crisp coolness makes perfect weather to sleep with the windows open. We lived in CT most of my life, and only 15 minutes from my house was the most fantastic orchard. They had a store there where you could buy all kinds of crafts and foods, including house pressed apple cider...and fresh apple cider donuts! Still, by far, the best I have ever eaten. I yearn for those donuts every fall!
I like to decorate the house for fall, too. I put up decorations on the fireplace mantel, and around the living room and kitchen, including leaves and branches, etc, from outside. Can't wait for the cooler weather... :)Olivia Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03754488304155415915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5071542331530983118.post-66754542101916461442011-09-08T12:29:05.874-04:002011-09-08T12:29:05.874-04:00Haha! Such a perfect description of them and of Papa:) I can't wait to find an apple picking orchard here this fall! FALL!! I get to experience my first fall in 15 years!! Bring on the crisp in the air, the smell of wood burning fireplaces, and the LEAVES. And of course, bring on the apple pie:)Kara Holdenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02546404485329277556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5071542331530983118.post-58643792271674883142011-09-08T11:36:35.840-04:002011-09-08T11:36:35.840-04:00How wonderful, Nancy! Of course, I had to have a test piece to make sure it wasn't poison, as my mother used to say ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by!Erin Knightleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09368123673970225476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5071542331530983118.post-57981813528469457262011-09-08T11:32:18.279-04:002011-09-08T11:32:18.279-04:00When we lived in New Hampshire, we took our 2 boys...When we lived in New Hampshire, we took our 2 boys apple picking, then raced home and baked 8 or 9 pies, half of which we gave away. It was one way to show the boys where food comes from and that it is very SWEET to share.Nancy Lee Badgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04560437903308743227noreply@blogger.com
